Margaret G. Meyers

Margaret Gabelman Meyers, 93, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013. Born in Akron, Ohio, she and her husband Frank and children moved to Williamsburg in 1965. Margaret was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Frank (Conemaker of Williamsburg) and sons, Gregory and Michael Meyers; granddaughter, Bonnie Meyers; brothers, Harold, Donald and Richard Gabelman; sister, Mary Louise Gableman and sister, K. Finan. She is survived by sister, Eleanor Willet (Jack); daughters, Frances Troy (Richard), Roberta Etheridge (Fred) and Cecilia Moss (Hunter); and her sons Raymond Meyers (Lynne), Dana A. Meyers (Dottie), Frank Meyers (Suzanne), Lawrence Meyers (Cindy) and Mark Meyers. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was an avid musician, played piano and chimes at St. Bede's. She was a member of St. Bede's choir for decades. She also helped as a bookkeeper at the church and was instrumental in the decision making of the new St. Bede's Church. She retired as manager of the Craft House at Colonial Williamsburg.
The family would like to thank Sherry Cole and Judy and Connie who assisted in the caretaking of their mother. A memorial service will be held during the morning Mass on Monday, Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. at St. Bede's. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
