Pat Richardson

Pat Richardson, 67, died peacefully at her Williamsburg home on March 19, 2013. Pat was born April 12, 1945 in Norge, where she was raised in a loving family with her five brothers and sisters.
Pat had a stellar work ethic. Starting at a young age, she rode the bus after school to and from work at Schmidt's Florist on Williamsburg's Duke of Gloucester Street. After graduating from James Blair High School, she began a long career as an Executive Secretary.
Pat relocated to Florida, where she was an Executive Secretary for the President of General Electric Air and Space Division in the greater Orlando area. After several years missing her family and four beautiful seasons, she returned to her home of Virginia to accept a prominent position as Executive Secretary working for the Virginia Real Estate Investment & Trust Company in Richmond.
Pat had a warm and gracious personality and an easy smile. She will be truly missed by her many friends and family. She is survived by her loving husband, Philip O. Richardson and devoted caretaker and dear friend, Cindy Coleman. She also leaves behind brothers Kenneth (Carolyn) Amos and Harold (Jeanne) Amos.
She was loved by Phil's children, Whit (Martha) Richardson, Sally (David) Porush and Edward Richardson; seven grandchildren; and one 4-month old great-granddaughter whom "Nana" Pat was thrilled to meet and hold in her final days.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother, father, a brother and two sisters, whereas we know she will be joining her family with her great and affectionate smile. Pat loved animals, including her precious Shih Tzu "Beau" who was with her for 17 years. She was a "Heritage Hero" member of the Heritage Humane Society helping ensure that animals find loving homes and are well cared for.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a/m/ on Friday, March 22 at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Road. The funeral will be followed with a reception in the church's social hall to remember and honor Pat's life.
Memorials may be made to her beloved Williamsburg United Methodist Church, or Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg. Arrangements by Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Online condolences may be expressed at> and
