Sadie K. Krauss, 92, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2013.
Born in 1920, Sadie was raised in Richmond and was one of the first female graduates of Skidmore University.
Proceeded in death by her husband, John J. Krauss, Sr., and her son, John J. Krauss, Jr., she is survived by her daughter, Sandy Thomas, and son-in-law John Thomas; grandchildren Jeff Krauss of Chesapeake, and Laura Cisewski and husband Jeff Cisewski of Williamsburg; and six great grandchildren: Patrick, Morgan, Nicole, Collin, Lily and Logan.
To all who knew her, Sadie was quite a colorful and lively personality. Until the end, she enjoyed chasing after her dog Kibbie, shopping, and her weekly Bridge and Mah Jong games at the Senior Center. She even spent her 90th birthday in Atlantic City gambling and ALWAYS seemed to have lady luck on her side.
She loved spending time with her friends and family, and especially delighted in her great grandkids. She was truly "One of a Kind" and she will be greatly missed! Arrangements are in the care of Bucktrout Funeral Home.
