Sherman R. Spraggins

Sherman R. Spraggins went home to rest peacefully on March 14, 2013 after a brief illness at Consulate Health Care. Mr. Spraggins was born, raised and continued to live in Williamsburg throughout his life.
Sherman graduated from Bruton Heights School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was a proud veteran and an avid Washington Redskins fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Susie Spraggins, Sr.; and a brother, Ben Spraggins, Jr. He is survived by his brother, W. Bruce Spraggins (Marilyn); a nephew Darrell (Mary); and a devoted cousin, James Hudson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 23 at Union Baptist Church, 109 Alice St., Williamsburg. Pastor Clarence R. Bolton will officiate. In Mr. Spraggins memory, contributions may be made to Sentara Hospice, 200 Enterprise Dr., Newport News, VA 23603.
