Thomas David Bright

Thomas David Bright, 73, of Leawood, Kansas died November 19, 2013, after a courageous five and a half year battle with gastric cancer.
Born Nov 8, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the eldest child of the late John C. and Daisy (Davis) Bright.
Dave grew up in Williamsburg, VA, and graduated from Virginia Tech as an Industrial Engineer. His career with DuPont spanned 30 years in North Carolina, Delaware, Kansas, Ohio, and Massachusetts. He loved sailing, travelling and his family.
Deeply loved and missed by his survivors including his wife and best friend of 33 years, Julia Bright. Four children: Susan (Joseph) Richards of Grand Junction, CO; John (Judy) Bright of Cambridge, MA; Tom (Tricia) Bath of Leawood, KS and Allison (Barry) Ward of Leavenworth, KS Sisters Kathryn Bright and Dorothy (Joseph) Krivis; Grandchildren Miller, Kate, Kendall, Fiona, Kate, Ripley, and Caroline.
He will be missed by his Standard Poodle Josh, who was his best walking buddy and constant companion. They were inseparable.
Dave will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His wonderful sense of humor, incredible personality, positive outlook, and love of life brought joy to those who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Williamstown, Berkshire Co., MA. in the family plot. The family requests no flowers. Please consider a donation to a .
