William E. Werling, age 83, died peacefully at Hospice House in Williamsburg on June 26, 2013.
Born May 29, 1930 and raised in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of the late Bernhard Werling and Estella Werling.
Prior to moving to Williamsburg in 2001, Bill also lived in Charlottesville, Tewksbury, N.J and Granite Springs, N.Y. He graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School,.and from there joined the Air Force 1948-52. After his return from the Air Force he attended Adelphi College and started his career with AT&T Long Lines for 34 years.
Bill had many hobbies, among them woodworking (he built a spectacular doll house for his granddaughter), golf and tennis.
In addition to his loving wife Kristin, Bill is survived by his two sons: Christopher Werling and his family, Pam, son Zachary and daughter Cayla; and Mark Werling and his family, Diane and sons Alec and Matt.
In accordance with instructions left by Bill, there will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
