Hazel Wallace Obituary

Evangelist Hazel Lee Adams Wallace died on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.
Her life began on Jan. 13, 1944, in Eden­ton, N.C. She was the daugh­ter of the late Mary and Floyd Adams Sr.
Mrs. Wallace was a member and associate minister at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She faithfully served her church as a member of the Ministerial Staff, the Leaders in Women's Fellowship, the Pastor's Aide, and the Joy Fellowship. She was truly a devoted Christian and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was also a member of the National Federation for the Blind. She had retired from Colonial Williams­burg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Wallace, and a son, Harold Ashlock. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Howard (Bernard) and Evangelist Margaret Washington; her sons, Chuck Wallace (Donna) and Kevin Wallace; her sister, Mary E. Johnson; her brothers, Darryl Adams and Floyd Adams Jr. (Sharon); her granddaughter, whom she raised as her own, Selena Wallace, and her 15 other grandchildren; her nine great-grand­children; her aunt, Queen E. Johnson; and her nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many caring friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald A. Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Family and friends will assemble at 100 Walker Dr. by noon on Thursday. Evangelist Wallace may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
Services are entrusted to Whiting's Funeral Home, 229-3011.

To the Wallace Family
I was shocked to hear at the passing of Evangelist Wallace. she was an inspiration and a joy to know..To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord..she lived the life now she has gone to her reward...A word of encouragement..She is still ALIVE. AND WELL AND SHE HAS HER EYESIGHT...she is with the Lord..You will see her again if you make heaven your home..God Bless you
