On November 27, 2012, Dennis L. Deutsch, 61, passed away after suffering heart complications. A memorial service will be held on December 29th, at 10 a.m. at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, Letters of condolence may be sent to the family via Legacy.com. Dennis was born in Jackson, MN, in 1951, and lived in Minnesota until joining the United States Navy in 1976. While serving in the Navy, Dennis achieved the rank of Torpedoman's Mate, Second Class. He was assigned to the USS Sierra based in Mobile, AL. Dennis was a Weapons Division Torpedo Tech, held positions dealing with supply and special security, and was Honorably Discharged receiving the Good Conduct Medal.
After serving his country, Dennis pursued a degree and owned a business in the upholstery industry. He married and had a son Jacob, who is now married with three children of his own. Dennis later served as Quality Control Manager and Estimator of signage and public marketing media for GML Inc. Before retiring, he returned to the upholstery industry working for Premier Marine Inc.
After retiring, Dennis moved from Forest Lake, Minnesota to the Williamsburg area to join his fiancée Julie Durrant. He continued his love of craft, designing and building home improvement projects. Together, he and Julie enjoyed photography, traveling, snorkeling, attending mass, and most importantly - sharing quiet moments of joy in each other's company.
