Emanuel Boxer, 93, passed away Jan. 26, 2013. Manny was born and raised in New York City and graduated from New York University.

In 1942, he moved to Hampton, where he worked for NACA/NASA at Langley Field for 38 years and was instrumental in the development and improvement of aircraft propulsion from propellers to jet engines.
In 1980 he retired from the job he always loved and moved to Williamsburg. Manny's love of golf and travelling was only exceeded by his love for spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great joy in his later years.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Muriel; his sons, Gary Boxer and wife, Mary, of Yorktown and Richard Boxer of Las Vegas; two grandchildren, Lynne Vaughn and husband, Tom of Olney, Md., and Jennifer Moore and her husband, Josh, of Virginia Beach; and two great-grandchildren, Corynn and Jordyn.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sentara Williamsburg Hospital who so caringly attended to all his healthcare needs.The family invites Manny's friends to a Celebration of Life to be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 2 in the Main Living Room at the Chambrel Retirement Community in Williamsburg.
