William Jackman Bull died Nov. 5 at the age of 84.
He was born in Westchester County, N.Y. in 1928 and was educated at Yale University, Class of 1950. After serving as a combat pilot aboard B-29s during the Korean Conflict, he was employed as an Account Manager with IBM.
He moved with his family to Williamsburg in 1963, and in 1964 purchased the Williamsburg Real Estate Agency, Inc., which he had owned and operated ever since.
Mr. Bull served several years on the Williamsburg Planning Commission; other community endeavors included the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and life membership in the Williamsburg Area Association of Realtors, including two terms as president.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne Dulany Bull; two daughters, Holly Shields and A. Carroll Bull, both of Williamsburg; one son, Key D. Compton of Savannah, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
A brief service will be held for family only in the St. Mary's Chapel at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church. A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 15 at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, 401 South England St, Williamsburg. All friends and associates are invited. Burial will be private in Savannah.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army or Heritage Humane Society.
