Opal Ann Wilson Boyer, 97, transitioned to the presence of God on April 6, 2013. The widow of Rev. E. Anderson Boyer, she served alongside her husband in Baptist churches in Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee.

A resident of Culpeper Baptist Retirement Center for the last six years, she lived with her daughter, K. J. Proctor of Williamsburg for 11 years after the death of her husband.
Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by her parents, John Roy and Nola Walton Wilson of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; her daughter, Joyce Boyer Brown and husband, Willis Brown; sisters, Ruby Wilson Dinwiddie and Fern Wilson Sallee, and her grandson, Christopher Crye.
She is survived by her daughters Judith Boyer Willey (Bob) of Covington, Ga., and KJ Boyer Proctor (John) of Williamsburg; her sister, Alice Wilson Nickless Tucker,105; two nephews and one niece; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her extended family of Proctor and Willey children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boyer was a member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church and the Mission Vision Women's Missionary Union small group.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on April 22 in the chapel of the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Center, 12425 Valley Loop, Culpeper. A private burial will take place in Bartlett, Tn. next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Mrs. Boyer's name to Walnut Hills Baptist Church Women on Mission ministry, Williiamsburg, or to the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation at the Culpeper address above.
