Arthur F. Johansen, Jr. of Williamsburg, died April 21, 2013 of complications from Parkinson's.

He was born Dec. 9, 1935 in Plainfield, N.J., the son of Arthur F. & Kathryn Johansen. Art grew up in Westfield, N.J. A graduate of Rutgers University, he began his career in advertising at Ted Bates & Co in Manhattan.
Mr. Johansen is survived by his wife, Anne Bennett Johansen of Williamsburg; his daughter, Kathryn Johansen of Washington, D.C.; sister, Elizabeth Nef (Edward) of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Mary Reveley of Rochester, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family resided in New York City for 25 years, returned to Westfield in 1991 and retired to Williamsburg in 2004.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at Hickory Neck Episcopal Church, 8300 Richmond Rd, Toano. A service at Church of the Incarnation in New York City will be held at a later date in June.
