Charlotte Virden Allcott, widow of Robert Wayne Allcott, passed away on November 28. She was born in Wilmington, DE to Sarah Anne and George Biard Virden on February 5, 1917. As a young child she moved to Richmond, VA where she spent most of her life. In 1988 she moved to Newport News, VA to live with her daughter's family and then to Herndon, VA and Williamsburg, VA. Charlotte was an avid bridge player, gardener, cook, seamstress, musician, and crafter. She spent most of her adult life in service to others. Survivors are her daughter, Mary Allcott Beach and son-in law H. Lee Beach, Jr. of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren: Laura Beach Vaughan and husband Douglas of Gloucester, VA; Gregory L. Beach and wife Krista of Centreville, VA; Bryan A. Beach and wife Beth of Roswell, GA. Also surviving are great grandchildren: Trip, Molly and Tally Vaughan; Harrison, Wyatt and Spencer Beach; Maryann, Betsy and Bryan Beach. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 2, at Nelsen Funeral Home 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188, with burial at 1:00 PM on December 14 at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond. The family extends special gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Walter Reed Convalescent Center in Gloucester for the exceptionally loving and expert care they gave "Granny".
