Eugene M. Behme, 96, of Williamsburg, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. He was employed for many years by Fritzsche, Dodge & Olcott, a division of BASF. A resident of Kingsmill, he took great pride in being a member of the Odd Lots Golf Association, where he never shot par but also never lost a golf ball.

Gene was predeceased by his older brother, Nicholas, his wife, Lillian, and his granddaughter, Lori Lyn Murray DuBois. Gene is survived by his brother, Charles; his daughter, Beverly B. Murray and her husband, John; his son, Eugene M. Behme Jr. and his wife, Susan; and four grandchildren, Melaney M. McLeland and husband, Ronald, Amy L. Ferrick and husband, Chris; Eugene M. Behme III and wife, Stacy, and Matthew B. Behme and wife, Renee. His five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews will also miss him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 6 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg on Friday, September 7 at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
