Frances (Sue) Berry Ketner, 91, died on Sept. 3, 2012 in Carmel, Indiana. Sue was born in Utica, Ohio, on December 10, 1920 to Fritz and Anna Berry. She graduated from Ohio University where she was active in the Chi Omega sorority. Sue briefly taught junior high school English and Spanish following her college graduation. Sue married Wayne M. Ketner in 1944. They lived in Toledo, OH, where she was a homemaker, full-time mother, and a tireless supporter of her husband in his career. Following retirement, Sue and Wayne moved to Williamsburg, VA to pursue their shared love of the game of golf, while taking full advantage of the educational and cultural opportunities there. Those who had the good fortune to know Sue will remember her for her cheerful outlook and her generous spirit.

Sue was predeceased by her husband and her sister, Virginia Robinson. She is survived by her children, Dr. Gary (Janice) Ketner, Columbia, MD, and Pamela (Jon) Constable, Indianapolis, IN, and her grandchildren, Jay Constable, Lawndale, CA, Michael Constable, Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Elizabeth Ketner, Philadelphia, PA, and Daniel (Marie) Ketner, Baltimore, MD.
The family wishes to extend our gratitude to the staff of The Stratford at West Clay, particularly those of Trude's house, and to Seasons Hospice. Their loving and careful attention to our mother's needs was a source of great comfort for us.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held at The Stratford at West Clay, 2460 Glebe Street, Carmel, IN, on Saturday, September 8, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation immediately following until 4:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, P.O. Box 1776, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
