James A. "Greyhound" Wynn entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 27, 2013, in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. His life's journey began on December 7, 1937, the son of the late Daisy and Joseph Wynn, in York County, Virginia. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was employed by Williamsburg Drug Company's Restaurant, formerly in Merchants Square; retiring after many years of service. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Greyhound was also preceded in death by his sons, Thomas A. Harris and James P. Mitchell. He leaves to treasure his precious memories, his beloved wife, Gladys V. Wynn; his daughters, Beverly Harris and Virginia Wesley; his sister, Ethel L. Brown; his brother, Arthur K. Wynn, Sr.; his five grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his three great-great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Leigh Mitchell; his Godson, Matthew Moore; and many other loving relatives and a host of caring friends.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013, (Today) in Whiting's Chapel with the Rev. Steven L. Keller officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 5821 Richmond Road by 12:00 noon on Saturday.
