James Hunter Richardson Sr. Obituary
James Hunter Richardson, Sr., 89, a lifelong resident of Williamsburg and James City County, passed away at home on Monday, June 24, 2013. James was a devoted member of James River Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school and served as a Deacon for more than 50 years.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Beatrice Richardson, and brothers Clarence, Earl and his twin, John Richardson.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ellen Minor Richardson; five children: Beatrice R. Gass (Ric) of Katy, Texas; J. Hunter Richardson, Jr. (Liz) of Great Falls; John Richardson ( Betty) of Chester; Richard H. Richardson (Temple) of Chesterfield; and Gale R. Pullen (Jeff) of New City, New York; a sister, Madeline R. Hogge, and three brothers: Willie, Robert, and Lang Richardson, all of Williamsburg. In addition, he leaves to cherish his memory 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at James River Baptist Church, with burial following immediately in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the building fund at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Rd. Williamsburg, 23188
