Jesse William Finander, formerly of Williamsburg, VA, died on July 13, 2013 in Barcelona Spain from complications following a bone marrow transplant. He was 35 years old at the time of his death. Jesse was born September 22, 1977 in Rochester, NY. His family moved to Liverpool, NY and then to Williamsburg, VA where Jesse graduated from Lafayette HS in 1995.

Instead of college, Jesse decided to explore the world. He travelled to Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Italy, France, Spain, England, The Netherlands, Thailand, Viet Nam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Tibet, China, Australia, and New Zealand. Along the way he taught himself computer programming and website design. He co-owned an internet travel business. He worked and lived in Barcelona, Spain.
Jesse was pre-deceased by his father Hiram and his older brother Ari. He is survived by his companion, Yael Carranza, of Barcelona; grandparents, Merrill and Bereneice Johnson, of Apalachin, NY and Indian Lake, NY; mother , step-father and brother, Karen, Richard, and Ethan DeRosa, of Bradford, VT; sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Gregory Ngee, of Philadelphia, PA; and his niece, Aeryn Finander, of Perth, Australia.
Jesse's funeral and burial took place in Barcelona on July 15. His family will hold a celebration of Jesse's wonderful life next summer at Johnson's Camp in the Adirondacks. Contributions in Jesse's memory may be made to AAMDS (Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation).
