I think of Joan so often. When I remember my precious Jane, Joan comes to my mind. Joan was one of the sweetest and most sincere people I´ve met. She was so easy to talk to and get to know. They weren´t many, but I so enjoyed our times together. I´ll always keep her in my heart. I´m so glad Joan came my way. My love to Andy and family.

Andy and kids, Jean, Dave - I just stumbled upon the announcement. I was floored, to say the least. I won't pretend that I can even imagine the depth of your grief. Words are useless now, I know; but, you have my deepest sympathy nonetheless. I will always remember her fondly.

My Dearest Joanie:
How can I possibly say how much I loved you and how much I miss you? You were the greatest gift God ever gave me, and you blessed me with 35 wonderful years and two absolutely perfect children. As one song writer wrote, “You were the wind beneath my wings.” Another sang that “my world is empty without you.” Both verses are so true. The World will never really know how truly smart and perfect you were, but Andy Jr., Cheryl, Jean and I will always know that. You were so beautiful and genuine, inside and out. We miss you so badly, and there is such a void in our lives. I don't know why this happened, but I want you to know, I loved you from the first moment I saw you, and I always will.

Dear Family and Friends of Joan Cochet: My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved Joan. I just met Joan this summer via the National Center for State Courts ICM Fellows Program. In the three weeks in Williamsburg, I came to know and work with Joan. I found her to be intelligent, charming, helpful, caring, and the utmost professional. I know my journey was greatly enriched by having come to know her, though only slightly. Please know that she has touched so many students and court users through the NCSC programs . We were so lucky to have been taught and helped by her. She was truly a touchstone of the NCSC organization. She will be remembered by so many people because she helped us all so generously. Joan was such a great help to me when I called with questions or advice, as a librarian @ the Arkansas Supreme Court Library -- she was ever ready to assist, very smart. And charming - I enjoyed talking with her. I am so sorry to learn that she is gone. I send my condolences to her family.

Joan was a person that is all too rare in the world – funny, smart and genuinely kind. She had a way of making everyone around her feel valued, and during my time at NCSC was always someone that would go above and beyond to be helpful. I never had the pleasure to have actually met Joan. However, as a member of the 2014 Fellows class, I did have the benefit of Joan's presentation regarding the NCSC library and her kind and professional assistance during the completion of my fellows paper, having specifically mentioned her in my Acknowledgment. Joan was so very passionate about the NCSC library and clearly took great pleasure assisting others. She was always quick to help and share her knowledge. I am aware that words are insufficient to express my sympathies for your loss. But, I wanted you to know the impact that Joan made upon me, even from a distance. May you find comfort and peace.
