WILLIAMSBURG - John C. Jones, 73, passed away on September 11, 2017. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and received decorations for Good Conduct and National Defense Medals, retiring from the Naval Weapons Station and Ace Hardware. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Grace Jones; wife, Vivian Elaine Jones and brother, Bill Jones. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Daniel Jones (Michelle); daughters, Kimberly Moore and Rachel Hutton (Christopher) and six grandchildren, Aiden, Grace, Tyler, Noah, Justin and Ian. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA with a reception immediately followed at Hilton Garden Inn, 1624 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Cancer Society, 11835 Canon Blvd a102, Newport News, VA 23606. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.nelsencares.com.
