Richard "Dick" Lawrence Burns, age 84, former resident of Spring Lake NJ passed from our lives and hearts on November 27, 2012. Dick was born June 10, 1928 in Long Branch New Jersey to Alfred and Gladys Burns. He shared his life with his brother Peter Burns who passed earlier this year.

Dick was married to the love of his life, Mary Catherine Burns, in New York City on May 4, 1957. They shared 55 beautiful years together. Dick attended The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ and Lafayette College in PA. He spent many of his working years in advertising at the William Esty Company in New York. He also worked for Dancer Fitzgerald, Johnson & Johnson and the Mennen Company. In his later years he worked at Colonial Williamsburg welcoming tourists and guiding their visits.
Dick loved family, fishing, crossword puzzles, the New York Giants and an afternoon on the porch. He is survived by his wife, Mary, Children: Christine and Peter Kingsbery, Kelly and James Massengill, Timothy and Alison Burns and Grandchildren Kyle, Ian, Seamus, Duncan, Phelan Kingsbery; Kendall, Drew and Michael Massengill and Tucker and Kate Burns.
Dick served our country for two years in the Korean War. Services will be held at St. Bedes in late December and will be posted in the weekly bulletin.
