Thomas Lee Tysor died Tuesday, October 4, 2011. His life began on September 24, 1945, in West Virginia.

He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He received numerous outstanding awards and commendations, such as good conduct medal with one Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, AF Overseas (Short) Tour Ribbon among others, too numerous to mention.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ann Tysor; his sons, Timothy Lee Tysor and Kevin Tysor; his four sisters; his five brothers; his sixteen grandchildren; his former wife and caregiver, Sandra Tysor; a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronald A. Ellis officiating. Interment will follow, with full military honors, in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. Family and friends will assemble by 9 a.m. at 120 Lafayette Blvd, Apt. B, Williamsburg, on Tuesday. Viewing will be held Monday, Oct. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Whiting's Funeral Home.
