Virginia Ely Cain Koren died October 15, 2013 in Williamsburg, Virginia. She was born August 18, 1915 in Jamestown, Rhode Island where she spent most of her early years. On August 30, 1941 she married Henry L.T. Koren. After service in the Army during World War II, he joined the Foreign Service and served in numerous overseas posts including Haiti, Switzerland, Berlin, the Philippines, Congo-Brazzaville and Vietnam. After retiring, they lived in Washington, D.C., Boca Grande, FL and Dorset, VT before moving to Williamsburg in 1988.

Virginia is survived by her two children, Anne of Williamsburg and Henry, Jr. (Tony) and his wife Judith of Colorado Springs, CO. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Elisabeth, Matthew and William; and three great-grandchildren.
Virginia was known to all she met as a lady, imbued with kindness, grace, compassion, generosity, dignity and beauty inside and out. She will be greatly missed.
