William "Billy" O'Brien, 82, of Williamsburg, passed away on October 27, 2012. He served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed a career in advertising in New York City. An avid golfer, he preferred to play for the pleasure of the game and the time spent with his buddies. Billy was born in Jersey City, NJ on November 19, 1929 and was raised in Spring Lake, NJ. He was a graduate of St. Peter's Prep School, and received his BA at Seton Hall University. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Lynn O'Brien; sisters, Sheila Lucarelli, Peggy Piscal and Lydia Mooty; brother, Kevin O'Brien; and best buddy, his beloved dog Lily. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 9 at 11am at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, Virginia . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
