Marcel Walter, 75, passed away Friday, June 7, at his home in Williamsburg.

He was born February 19, 1938 in Steckborn, Switzerland, the son of the late Carl and Augusta Walter.
He began his Pastry Chef apprenticeship in Switzerland and his profession enabled him to work in Belgium, England, and Bermuda before coming to the U.S. and finally settling in Williamsburg as Colonial Williamsburg's Executive Pastry Chef in 1982.
Marcel is survived by his wife, Helen; and two sisters, Heidi Matti and Yvonne Reber.
