Mary Jane Gibbs passed away peacefully on Oct. 10, 2012. Born in Maryland in 1925 and graduated from Martinsburg High School, West Virginia University, and University of Mary Washington. She was a dedicated stewardess with Capital and United Airlines. She raised her family in Rocky River, Ohio. She served in a multitude of volunteer organizations. She was a member for 50+ years of the Delta Gamma sorority and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was National President and National Secretary of Clipped Wings and was honored with the Clipped Wings first Distinguished Service Award. She was a member of Bruton Parish, Daughters of the King, and APVA Jamestown. She enjoyed working at University of Mary Washington and teaching history at St. Margaret's School. She published an historical research article for the Journal of Early Southern Decorative Arts. She was a wonderful Mother, wife, Mum-Mum and treasured all her friends. She will live in our hearts forever. The Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Bruton Parish. The family suggests contributions be made in her memory to Clipped Wings, 22800 Laramie Dr., Rocky River, Ohio 44116 for the organization's support of Special Olympics programs or Bruton Parish Church, P.O.
