Rev. Harry Marsh Warren III

Obituary Condolences

The Rev. Harry Marsh Warren III died Tuesday, November 13 in Newport News, Va. He was born in Manhattan, in New York City, on Oct. 20, 1936.
He was a member of Williamsburg Baptist Church, and an associate pastor at St. John's Baptist Church in Williamsburg. He was a minister with the American Baptist Church, and later with the United Methodist Church. He graduated from Wesley Junior College in Dover, Del, and Otterbein College in Westerville, OH, and received his Master of Divinity degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pa. In addition to pastorates in New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia, he was a prison chaplain in Philadelphia in New York state, and a hospice chaplain. He was a member of Williamsburg Masonic Lodge No. 6 A.F. & A. M.
He is predeceased by his parents, Harry M. Warren Jr. and Florence Perrine Warren, and a sister, Cynthia David. Rev. Warren is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elinor; his sons and their families, Harry Paul and Amy Warren of White Plains, Md., and John and Heidi Warren of Gloucester, Va; seven grandchildren and two sisters and their husbands, Adelaide and Edson Worden and Gayle and Richard Meissner, and brother-in-law Charles David.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at St. John's Baptist Church, 1397 Penniman Road, Williamsburg. with burial in the church cemetery and a reception at the church to follow. The family will receive friends at 3267 Kings Creek Road, Hayes, Va. on Sunday, Nov. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Nelson Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
