James Hodges "Jim" Parker Jr., 64, born July 7, 1948, in Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Fredericksburg.

Jim and his beloved wife, Anne, enjoyed a wonderful, Christ-centered marriage and a deep and abiding friendship. Anne survives him along with five children, nine grandchildren, two sisters, three nephews and one niece. They were members of Lake of the Woods Church, Locust Grove.
Jim was an Eagle Scout, graduated from the College of William & Mary and was the founding pastor of Williamsburg New Testament Church and Williamsburg Christian Academy. During this time, Jim traveled to more than 90 countries and went around the world eight times sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Jim had a ministry of encouragement, and his sermons were noted for their humor as well as scriptural insight. He believed in building bridges of understanding and communication.
Jim also was a nationally recognized, highly successful real estate broker with Dominion Resources and NTS Development, Fawn Lake, for a total of 20 years until his retirement in October 2007.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Lake of the Woods Church, 1 Church Lane, Locust Grove, VA, with Tom Schafer officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in National Cemetery, Quantico, following the service.
Jim and Anne have requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Young Life Fredericksburg.
