Anna Louise Shelton Hobday died peacefully after a long illness on Feb. 19, 2013.

Born in Paxton, Ne. on July 22, 1927, Anna Lou worked for American Airlines and United Airlines in Washington, D.C. There she met and married the love of her life, Stanley Thomas Hobday in 1950.
After retiring from United, she worked for Weight Watchers and become a group leader. Anna Lou researched and traced her ancestry back to Samuel Shelton of Virginia and received recognition from the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution on Dec. 7, 1996. She was multi-talented and created beautiful ceramics and needlework. She enjoyed calligraphy and attending dog shows.
Anna Lou is survived by her beloved husband, Stan; a sister, Patricia Lyreman of Chappell, Ne.; several nephews and nieces, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 17 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 612 Jamestown Rd. in Williamsburg. A reception in the gathering space of the church will happen following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the
