Thomas A. Dorsey, 72, a resident of Colonial Heritage in James City County, a devoted husband, father, brother and friend, joined his parents, Bob and Mary Eileen Dorsey in Heaven on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 after a long battle with health issues.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Rice Dorsey; daughter, Holly Orefice (Frank) of Manassas, Va.; son, Air Force Lt. Col. (P) Brent Dorsey (Susie) of Warner Robins, Ga.; three sisters, Dianne Holy, (Keith) of Kansas City, KA., Jeri Jamison, (Kent) of Portland, OR., Eileen Mandel (Allan), of Norfolk, VA.; and two brothers, Jack Dorsey (Lee) of Norfolk and Mike Dorsey (Lori) of Ashburn, VA and five grandchildren.
Tom, for years, owned and operated an independent insurance agency in Northern Virginia before moving to Williamsburg eight years ago to begin enjoying retirement. He served in the Virginia Army National Guard, attended George Mason University and George Washington University, was past director of Northern Virginia Association of Life Underwriters, member of Washington Leaders Club, member of D.C. Life Underwriters Association, member Annandale Chamber of Commerce, Annandale Rotary Club, Alexandria Toastmasters, American Legion Post 1976, manager Annandale/Springfield Little League and Babe Ruth League, and president Pinecrest Heights Community Association.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
