HARLINGEN,TX.-
Benjamin Elizondo, 62, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 8, 1948 to Miguel and Epifania Elizondo in Combes, Texas and had worked with Federal Petroleum for 32 years and had been retired for the past 9 years.
Benjamin is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Ludivina Padron, Margarita Carmona, Criselda C. Robles, brothers; Alfredo A. Elizondo and Guadalupe Carmona.
He leaves his precious memories with his family, loving wife of 43 years; Diana Smith Elizondo, children; Sandra (Juan) Elizondo, Missy Elizondo, Benjamin Elizondo, Jr. (``BJ'), Rudy (Rebecca) Elizondo, grandchildren; Ashley M. Jimenez, Annalise M. Barrientes, brothers; Natividad Carmona, Miguel (Yolanda) Elizondo, Guada-lupe (Yolanda) Elizondo, Ofelia (Arturo) Ortiz, Mary (Rick) Dromgoole, Hermelinda (Raymond) Sepulveda, Rosa Penalver and Flora Elizondo.
Visitation and recitation of a holy rosary were held at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. The funeral procession will depart today, September 2, 2010 at 9:30 am for a funeral service at 10 am to be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are; Rudy Elizondo, Juan Barrientes, Felipe Mercado, Efrain Eaton, Michael Rosales, David Robles, Eddie Elizondo, Eddie Gutierrez, Raul Garcia, Omar Ortiz and Roel Sepulveda. Honorary pallbearers will be; Benjamin ``BJ' Elizondo, Jr., Natividad Carmona, Miguel Elizondo, Guadalupe (Wally) Elizondo, Arturo Ortiz, Raymond Sepulveda, Francisco Sanchez, Henry Garza, George Smith and Jimmy Smith.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Harlingen.
