HARLINGEN, TX. --
Julia L. Allen went to be with her Lord and savior on February 26, 2015. She was born April 2nd, 1933 to Ollie and Lillie Bryan of LaCrosse, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldo Ray Allen; son John Allen and his wife Susan; brothers Emmett and Vernon Bryan; and sister, Marilyn Bryan.
Julia graduated from Pratt High School, Pratt, KS in 1951 and went to Wichita St. Joseph School of Nursing and graduated in 1955. Julia was a nurse for 44 years. She worked in Pediatrics and Cardiac nursing.
In 1956, Julia met and married Eldo Ray Allen at Forbes AFB in Topeka, Kansas.
Julia and her husband moved to the Rio Grande Valley from Dickson, TN in 1995. They resided in Sunshine Country Club Estates.
Julia was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she worked with the Gabriel House-Pro-Life and Damion Center.
Julia is survived by her son, Mark Allen and his wife Sylvia of Dickson, TN; daughter, Suzy Cody and her husband Mike of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Grover Bryan of Liberal, Kansas; and sister, Patty Cramer and her husband John from Pratt, Kansas; grandchildren, George Allen, Steven Allen, and Rachel Shultz of Dickson, TN, Kari Lynn Allen of Evergreen, Colorado; great grandchildren include, Katlyn, Ty, Brooklynn, and Logan of Dickson, TN. Faith and Grace of Evergreen, Colorado; and Shyanne and Jasmine of San Antionio, TX.
Special thanks to Father Bill Pendergest and Father Alphonse Multugh from Queen of Peace Church whom she dearly loved.
Visitation will be held today, March 2, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Terrence McGarth as celebrant.
Burial will be held at Harlingen-Combes Memorial Park Cemetery in Combes, TX.
