Francisco Cortina Obituary
Francisco was a lifetime resident of San Benito and a senior at San Benito High School, Class of 2017. He was in the Building Trade Program for electrical and welding, a past member of the FFA Club, and was an avid horseman. Some of his hobbies included ranch sorting and Team Penning. He loved playing football and basketball. He will be greatly missed. Francisco had many friends of all ages. He was very respectable to all. He had a special ability to get along with everyone. He loved animals, especially his pet dogs and horses.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Mariana Gonzalez.
He is survived by his parents, Praxedis Jr and Mary G. Cortina; sister, Cassandra (Rigo Gonzalez) Cortina; brother, Praxedis Cortina III; paternal grandparents, Praxedis Sr and Maximina Cortina; maternal grandfather, Jose Luis Gonzalez; maternal step grandmother, Ofelia Gonzalez; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made in memory of Francisco Cortina to: Capital One Bank, Account #8232636069 for funeral expenses.
