Paul Albert Bauer
Paul Albert Bauer was the first born of Albert L. Bauer and Joan Arendt Bauer on July 10,1952, and was raised in a loving and devout Catholic home with seven siblings.
He joined the Air Force following graduation from La Feria High in 1972, serving during the Vietnam War as an aviation electronic technician. He returned home in 1977, when he began his 37 year career with the USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Services, as a civil engineering technician; which concluded in his retirement, on May 31st 2013. The Lord called him home on Father's Day, June 16, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert L. Bauer.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 34 years, Ophie Bauer his sons Eric (Misty) Bauer and Kevin Bauer. He is also survived by his mother, Joan Bauer, of La Feria, and his seven siblings: Michele (Robert) Knauf of Muenster, TX; Daniel (Ramona) Bauer of Harlingen; Karen (Paul) Smith of Cost, TX; John (Judy) Bauer of La Feria; Joe (Kristina) Bauer of Pearland, TX; Therese (Brian) Roder of Colorado Springs, CO; and Jeanne Fullbright of Cleburne,TX; mother in Law, Evelia H. Rios; in-laws, Eugene (Minnie) Rios; Martha (Frank) Gonzales; Danny (Belinda) Rios all of Harlingen, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was always ready to offer that infamous smile, and he truly set a fine Christian example. Paul will be greatly missed by his friends, but he will especially be lovingly remembered by all the members of the Bauer, Rios, and Gonzales families.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria.
Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Services will conclude after the funeral mass.
