SAN BENITO, TX. -- Curtis D. Richardson 77 of San Benito, TX departed from his earthly home to his heavenly kingdom on Thursday, January 30, 2014, after falling while getting his morning cup of coffee.
Born February 16, 1936, in Lac Qui Parle Township, Minnesota. Curt was the fourth of five children.
Curtis was a Vietnam Veteran retiring from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service. He went on to serve at the United States Post Office in Haltom City, Texas for 16 years. He was a member of the San Benito VFW.
Left behind with so many tender memories are his wife, Sally, of 22 years, his son Kevin and daughters; Kristy and Cindy, step children; Glenn, Tracy, Jeff and Kim and thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren, his sister Helen, and brothers; Kenny and Milroy (Laverne). He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Gladys Richardson and brother Harry and his first wife, Sue.
Curt was passionate about fishing, golfing and he always had a fiction novel in hand. During his retirement, he and Sally traveled the country in their RV, making many new friends and calling home to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, Pahrump, Nevada, and then settling in San Benito, Texas.
He served as an Elder at St. John Lutheran Church in San Benito, where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 at 11:00 am.
A visitation will be held at 10:30 am before the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be donated to St. John Lutheran Church, 1000 N. Crockett St, San Benito 78586.
