Calvin Frizzell, Sr

Lieutenant John Calvin Frizzell, Sr., 63, lived a full life and was loved by many. He was born on November 13, 1950 in Harlingen, Texas and went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 14, 2014.
John was married to his bride, Paula Jeannine Lintz, for over 30 years before her passing in 2003. Together they raised their son, John. John Sr., graduated from Harlingen High School and earned a Criminal Justice Degree from Texas Southmost College in Brownsville. Over his professional career, he served as a Harlingen Police Officer, worked for his father in the Jim Frizzell Dragline Service, and served faithfully over twenty years with the Cameron County Sherriff's Department.
John was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert and Verne Ryals Frizzell, his sisters, Winnie and Letha, his brother, Jimmy and his wife, Paula.
John is survived by his son, John and daughter-in-law, Tammy, grandchildren, Miriam, Hunter, Samuel, and Lydia, his brother, Lynn Frizzell, and sisters, Joanna Bowles (Don) and Linda K. Hulsey (Gerald). He is also survived by those who looked up to him like a father, his nephew, John Allen Frizzell and the many peace officers he mentored over the years who affectionately call him, "Pops".
While John will be greatly missed, his legacy will continue through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched in the law enforcement community. "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" (Matt 25:23)
Visitation hours for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 17, 2014 with Bill Reagan officiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Del Bosque, Rodolfo Delgado, Cesar Diaz, Gus Flores, Robert Rodriguez and Santos Sanchez.
