HARLINGEN, TX. -
Regulo Rivera 76, of Harlingen went to be with the Lord August 21, 2014. He was born in Matamoros, Mexico on December 6, 1937 to Eulalio and Isabel Rivera.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Berta Rivera; 3 daughters, Rebecca (Nasario) Gonzalez, Alma Leticia (Efrain) Costilla, Argelia (Leonel) Ibarra all of Harlingen. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lorraine (Tomas) Yanez, Veronica Costilla, Leonel (Cassy) Ibarra, Israel Ibarra, Jermiah Ibarra; 3 great-grand-children, Kyrin, Caleb, Isabella and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Regulo was an active member of Primera Iglesia Bautista and served as a Deacon there and at Los Vecinos Iglesia Baustista. He worked as a barber at Cano's Barber Shop for many years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 10am-9pm and a prayer service will be at 7pm.
Funeral services will be on Saturday with a chapel service at 2pm at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace with Pastor Robert Rodriguez officiating and interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen.
