Amelia (Nellie) Nava 74, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt of Harlingen went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 29, 2012.
She is preceded in death by her husband Noe Nava and survived by her loving family; her sons, Joel Nava of Houston and Jorge (Michelle) Nava of Harlingen; 3 grandchildren, Justin (Bridgette) Nava, Jessica Nava and Marissa Nava.
She is also survived by her siblings; Aurora (Adrian Sr.) Perez, Manuel (Gloria) Ayala, Jr., Alicia (Carlos, Jr.) Gracia, Arnulfo (Elizabeth) Ayala, Arturo (Yvonne) Ayala and Armando (Irma) Ayala and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.
Nellie worked at Lairson's and Robby & Lynn for many years. She was lifetime member of Primera Iglesia Bautista where she was very active with the Children's Church, choir member, Women's Mission Union and Coordinator for the Bereavement Committee.
Visitation will be held today (Thursday) from 10am to 9pm and a prayer service will be at 7pm.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, 2012 with a chapel service at 2pm with Pastor Robert Rodriguez from Primera Iglesia Bautista officiating and interment will follow at Mont Meta.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Gracia III, Charlie Martinez III, Manuel Ayala III, David Perez, Armando Ayala, Jr., Adam Ayala and honorary pallbearers will be, Adrian Perez, Jr., Justin Nava and Arturo J. Ayala.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Sunshine Haven Care Facility, PO Box 4478, Brownsville, Texas 78523.
Funeral services are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Harlingen.
