HARLINGEN, TX. - S.Sgt. Alejandro Garza 76 was born in Santa Rosa, Texas on February 26, 1936, to Candelario and Juanita Garza.
On November 27, 2012 he passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Juanita Garza, brother, M.Sgt. Margarito Garza and sister, Celia Garza Ramirez. S.Sgt. Alejandro Garza proudly served in the US Air Force and retired after 20 years of service from 1954-1974.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Garza of Las Vegas and his companion Maria Palafox; sons, Alejandro Jr., Gary Lee (Wendy), Charles Anthony (Elsie), Curtis Candelario (Kim), Armando Ray (Angie); daughters, Donna Jean Garza and Kristina Renee Garrison all of Las Vegas. Mr. Garza was also blessed with 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his brothers, Sgt. Santos (Tonia) Garza of Santa Rosa, M.Sgt. Jose Angel (Angela) Garza of San Antonio, A1C Juan (Beva) Garza of Harlingen, Erasmo (Maria) Garza of Sanra Rosa, Roberto (Isabel) Garza of Pharr, Luis (Janet) Garza of La Feria, A2C Oscar (Del) Garza of Harlingen and sister, Ana Garza of Santa Rosa.
Visitation will be held Friday, 10 am to 9 pm and a prayer service will be held at 7pm.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 departing the Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 9:15 am for a 10 am Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church and interment will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery Circle of Honor under the auspices of the American Legion Post # 205.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mike Garza, Santos Garza, Jr., Juan Garza, Jr., Erasmo Garza, Jr., Roberto A. Garza, Oscar Garza, Jr. and honorary pallbearers will be all of his nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Harlingen.
