HARLINGEN, TX. - David Enrique Salinas, 57, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A lifetime resident of Harlingen he was born April 5, 1955 to David and Maria Vela Salinas. David graduated from Harlingen High School in 1973 then attended Texas Southmost College.
David was an Army veteran and a retired Harlingen Police Officer of 24 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 1/2 years Irma R. Salinas. Children: Adria M. Vinson (Tony), DeeAnn M. Salinas, Dalila Almanza, Andy Gonzalez (Yvette), Carlos Diaz. 3 grandchildren: David, Kevon, Makayla. Brothers: George Salinas, Gilbert Salinas (Martha), Rene Garza (Virginia). Sisters: Rosalinda Acosta (Rick), Mage Moody.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, 2012 from 1 PM to 9 PM with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 PM.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church.
Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be the Harlingen Police Dept.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Sanchez, Tony Vinson, Carlos Diaz, Ofelio Muniz, Andy Gonzalez, Manuel Salinas, Esteban Salinas, Rene Garza and Felix Chavez Jr.
Arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 E. Harrison Ave. Harlingen, Texas.
