Ramiro Baltazar Guzman went to meet the Lord after a long illness on January 29, 2013 at his home in Donna, TX. He was surrounded by his loving wife and devoted family. He was 90 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents Baltazar and Maria Hinojosa Guzman and son Ramiro Baltazar Guzman Jr. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Gloria Valadez, Guillermina ``Minnie' Balli, Maria Concepcion Guzman and his brother Alvaro Guzman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ofelia Moroles of Weslaco, TX. In addition, he is survived by his six daughters: Sylvia Hernandez (Archie), Diana Reyna (Jerry), Norma Salinas (Robert Jr.), Hilda Martinez (David), Velma Shaw (Dave) and Belinda Garces (Merce).
He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Adrian and Alyssa Hernandez, J.J. Reyna, Rob, Andrew, & Iliana Salinas, Victoria Martinez and Ashley Garces, and one great grandchild, Alexander Martinez. Mr. Guzman is also survived by his sister Alicia Solis of Alice, TX. Leonel Guzman of Donna, TX, and Roberto Guzman of Edinburg, TX. He is also survived by many numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at the Donna City Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by Sgt. Benito Alanis V.F.W. Post #7473 of Elsa, TX.
Funeral services are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.
