HARLINGEN, TX - Israel Serrato, 46, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2013 in Harlingen, Texas.
He was born on July 25, 1967 in Traverse City, Michigan to Agapito, Sr. and Edviges Serrato.
Israel proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Israel was preceded in death by his loving father Agapito, Sr.; and his siblings Raul Serrato, Inocencia Serrato, and Baltazar Serrato U.S. Marine Corps-Vietman Veteran
He is survived by his beloved wife Treva Serrato of Harlingen; his two step-daughters Laura Williams and Julie-Ann Williams, both from Canada; his loving mother Eduviges Serrato; his siblings Presiliano Serrato, Ana Serrato, Francisco Serrato, Agapito Serrato, Jr., and Maria de Jesus Espinoza. Israel is also survived by his sister-in-law Soledad Serrato; numerous nieces and nephews; and his aunt, Maria Mendoza.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. American Legion Post #205 will conduct military honors at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 P.M. in the afternoon. A prayer service will take place at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening.
All services will conclude at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening.
