Celeste M. Sim(1921 - 2013)

Celeste Sim (nee Wilson)

October 22, 1921 - July 22, 2013

Celeste passed away peacefully at the Kiwanis Care Centre in North Vancouver with her youngest daughter Deborah by her side. Celeste was predeceased by her loving husband David (Lieutenant Commander R.C.N. Retired) who passed away at home in West Vancouver on February 11th, 2004 at the age of 82. Celeste leaves behind her daughters Janet (Réjean), Elizabeth (Simon), Margaret (Gerry), Deborah (Joseph), her two granddaughters Alexandra and Rebecca, and nephews and nieces in Alberta and Ontario.

Celeste was a true Canadian having lived from the Atlantic to the Pacific during her 91 years. Born and raised in Sydney Nova Scotia, she received her dental nursing degree from the U of T and spent her early married life in the Toronto area. After many happy years raising her family both in North Vancouver and Montreal, Celeste returned to college and completed studies in special needs child care and gerontology. In her later years Celeste worked at the West Vancouver Kiwanis Care Centre until her retirement.

The family would like to convey special thanks to Celeste's long time companions Davinder and Karen, and family friend Helen Edgerly who delighted Celeste over the years with beautiful handcrafted cards and photos. All your girls love you and will miss you terribly Mom, because for us Celeste truly was the best!
