James (Jim) Fenney

Dec 27, 1930 - Mar 6, 2013

With great sadness we announce the passing of Jim Fenney after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Vancouver, Jim spent most of his adult life living in North Vancouver. Jim worked as an electrician for Ricketts-Sewell Electric and Vancouver General Hospital, retiring in 1993. Throughout his life, Jim pursued his true passion of fishing BC's coastal waters. He thoroughly enjoyed his years associated with Kyuquot Sound Lodge on Vancouver Island's west coast after retirement. Jim is survived by his wife Marjorie, daughter Jane Ono (Craig), and sons Bob (Moya) and Paul (Suzan), and six grandsons: Bryan, Aaron, JD, Clayton, Galen, and Kyler. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Jayme in 2003. Jim was very involved in youth soccer and was instrumental in bringing lacrosse to the Mt. Seymour area. He was an avid skier, diver and boater. Jim will long be remembered for his warm heart, his love for dark rum, and for the extensive Christmas light display on the family home. Funeral services will be held March 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First Memorial's Boal Chapel in North Vancouver.
