It is with sadness that the family of Billie Jean Scarth tells you of her death on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the age of 35. Billie Jean was born into the Steinhauer family of Saddle Lake, and adopted at the age of 21 months by Irene and Alan Scarth. She is predeceased by her beloved father, William Alan Scarth. Billie Jean is survived by her most excellent friend, Charlie (Chuck McNab). Billie Jean and Charlie were joined in a blanket ceremony in August of this year. She is also survived by her loving mother Irene, and Billie's longtime friend and supporter, Carol Dillman. She is also survived by her sister, Nova Scarth, and three sons Damon, Todd, and Mason.

In accordance with Billie Jean's wishes, there will be no memorial service. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Irene Thomas Hospice for the compassionate care given to Billie Jean during the last weeks of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation to the Irene Thomas Hospice at 4631 Clarence Taylor Crescent, Delta B.C. V4K 4L8. Thank you to everyone who has supported us all during this difficult time.
