BAIRD, Lorraine Ann July 1, 1947 - February 19, 2014 . It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Lorraine's passing. After a courageous battle with cancer she is now at peace. She is survived by her husband, John Bartley, daughters, Sarah and Amanda Bartley, and her hockey grandsons Evan & Josh Walls and numerous other family and friends. Lorraine was born in Hamilton, Ontario where she attended school and later Western University. She treasured her summers in her childhood years in Sudbury & the cottage at Lake Panage with her family. She shared countless laughs and adventures over many years with Agnes Stewart & Jennifer Torrance, who were like her sisters. In 1971, Lorraine moved to Vancouver with Agnes. A few years later, she entered the film industry and became one of the most respected accountants in the business and a beloved member of an extended film family. Lorraine & John loved to travel the world and enjoyed their time in their cottages, first in Gibsons and then on Gabriola Island. She always maintained a penchant for learning even enrolling in Elder College at Capilano University later in life. We will fondly remember Lorraine's fabulous sense of humour, her style, wit, kindness, joy, mischievousness, shopping prowess and her innate sense of the perfect present! Our wonderful Lorraine was like no other. She touched many lives and will always have a special place in all of our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ride to Conquer Cancer that Mike Walls is doing in Lorraine's name or The Red Cross Society: http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Vancouver2014?px=3621177&pg=personal&fr_id=1514 http://www.redcross.ca/donate/donate-online/make-a-donation-in-memory For those wishing to share a memory, please visit www.hollyburnfunerals.com.
