COOKE, John (Jack) Cyril
January 3, 1934 - February 8, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and friend due to pulmonary fibrosis. Survived by his loved and loving family, wife Elaine, son Dan (Joanne), daughter Cathy (Rob), and grandchildren Hilary, Tyler, Erin, Natalie and Emerson, brother Charles (Maureen), and sister Edith. Jack was predeceased by his brother David (Suzette). Jack grew up in Marpole, attended David Lloyd George Elementary School, Point Grey Junior High School and Vancouver College. He played soccer for many years and coached soccer and basketball at the Marpole Community Centre. He spent his career in the aviation maintenance industry, mostly with Canadian Pacific Airlines. Jack was a long-time member and executive of the Quarter Century in Aviation Club. He built a second home at Hopkins Landing, and benefited from the relaxed pace of life there. He enjoyed many sports and hobbies, but the greatest enjoyment was gardening and harvesting the largest, tastiest tomato possible. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 15th at 1:00 P.M., at Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road Richmond. Donations to a charity of your choice.

It was with great sadness that we heard of Jack's passing.
He was a longtime member of the Air Canada Pionairs and I got to know him well, when he became the Organizer of our Sunshine Coast Coffee grup in Gibson. He was such a kind man and he always picked me up at the ferry.
On behalf of all of us in the Pionairs, he will be greatly missed.
Our sincere Condolences to the entire family

My deepest sympathy to all of Jack's family. I worked in the CP Air M & E Administration Office starting in 1966 and it was always a pleasure to deal with Jack. Sincerely, Monika
