LaVerne BROWN Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Feb. 22, 2013.

BROWN, LaVerne (nee Larson)
Born in North Vancouver in 1936, LaVerne died in Peace Arch Hospital February 21, 2013. Her husband, George predeceased her in 2004. She is survived by her brother Ron and daughters, Toni and Terry (Bill Schroeder), and by grandkids, Nicholas, Megan, and Sarah. The most loving of spirits, she took a keen interest in the lives of many family and friends and co-workers who will remember her courage, humour, and sense of adventure. She retired from a lifetime of medical steno work which she loved. She has passed on her love of country music, animals, and the outdoors to many of her family. A memorial service will be arranged at a future time.

Auntie LaVerne was always so wonderful to be around. She made everyone around her feel comfortable. I will miss her dearly and her warm smile, kindness and gentle nature. She always welcomed me and my family to her home and had many happy memories and beach days with fish and chips and good laughs. My sincere sympathy and love to her beautiful family.

Laverne is a gentle and bright soul who lived with an easy laugh and a willingness to engage in friendly exchanges with anyone. She will be missed.

February 22, 2013

A most wonderful sister-in-law and friend, LaVerne always celebrated special occasions with well selected cards and gifts. She was the original "party girl" always ready for a gathering of friends and family and always bringing laughter and fun into our lives -- all without touching a drop. A very experienced traveler, she loved to visit relatives wherever they lived, Sweden, Norway, Texas, New York, Bellingham, Winnipeg, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. The world is a better place because of her and I will carry her in my heart forever. Sincere condolences to her daughters and grandkids.
