September 4, 1939 - November 27, 2012
Long-time Vancouver Island resident and CPGA golf professional David Charles (Dave) Ewart, 73, passed away at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. Born in New Westminster, Dave spent more than 40 years as a Class A CPGA teaching professional and made many lifelong friends. Dave will be deeply missed by daughter, Christine (Marcus) and brothers, Alan (Annemarie) and Clarence (Grace) and their families and by his many friends. A celebration of Dave's life will be held in Courtenay, B.C., in early spring. Donations in Dave's name may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association. I remember Dave best as a great golfer -- long before it was common for young people to take up the game. In fact he won a full scholarship thanks to golf at a university in the states. And, he was an all around great guy. Neil
