I am very sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He and my Dad, Bob Sr, were good friends. Dad was Doug's Chief Engineer on CN's SS Canora.
I also knew Doug as a friend after 'Snowey' Thrussell signed him up as a member of the 15 Field Artillery Regiment Officers Mess of which I have been a member since 1967. He and Belle joined us many times for dinners, teas and levees.
On behalf of my family and fellow members of the Mess I extend sincere condolences to Doug's family.
